Secondary Shutter

The secondary shutter is located downstream of the choppers and upstream of the SMP. It is to be used when we want to stop the beam, but not necessarily need the primary shutter closed.


Inside is a piece of neutron guide that's aligned with the rest of the beamline when in the open position (180 degrees), and a solid piece of steel in the closed position (0 degrees).

The preferred direction of motion is 0-180 degrees.
